We had a tremendous response to the first issue. What an exciting time it was for us! I didn’t think we would ever get all those papers delivered. It was quite intimidating, but a grand learning experience. We still have lots to learn about producing a great paper, and we hope you will bear with us through all our little bloopers. We plan to make a bigger, better paper, and we need your input. This paper is for you! We want you to contribute your experiences. That is what this paper is all about. Real life experiences. I know everyone has a story or two to tell. When I talk to people, they all start remembering the time their horse took them for a ride, or when their horse bucked so hard it was like a bronco coming out of the chute. Or when little Jane got her first horse. What memorable moments. Why not jot them down and send them to Cowherd’s Round Up? You do not have to give your name or picture. We’ve been having fun coming up with names to use such as Annie Oakly and Jesse James. We have gotten some wonderful feedback from our readers. We thought you would like to hear what they had to say, so we decided to create a special page just for letters from our readers. I want to say a special thank you to all the people that wrote and called about out first issue and gave us such encouragement. Thank you to the subscribers and the advertisers. There is also one dear friend that has been a tremendous help and long suffering with me and I would like to say a special thank you to Heidi Elias. So, are you wondering what’s wrong with the picture on the cover? The rider is not wearing a helmet. Helmet safety is something we all need to learn about. Proper use of a helmet can mean the difference between life and death. We’ll be featuring some articles in this issue dealing with helmets. Make sure you read them. And, if you’re one of those readers who doesn’t wear a helmet, I hope some of these articles will make you step back and re-think your decision. Check out the story, excerpted from our printed edition under Feature Topic. We want all of you to not only have a happy trail but a safe one too! Why not order you complementary copy now or even better, subscribe!. And, be sure to check out the great people who have sponsored our site by advertising in our print addition. Would you like to advertise? If so, go to our advertising page by clicking here.
See you next time, Lord willing,
